Learjet 60 Series Aircraft Information
A mid-size business jet, the Learjet 60 holds 10 passengers and two crew members. The 60 model has an empty weight of 14,640 lbs (6,641 kg) and a maximum takeoff weight of 23,500 lbs (10,660 kg). The maximum speed for the aircraft is 453 kts (522mph, 839km/h) and a cruise speed of 420 kts (484mph, 778 km/h). The rate of climb for the Learjet 60 is 4,500 ft/min (22.9m/s).
The Learjet 60 is the last legacy Learjet to be made by Bombardier, using the wing that was designed for the Swiss military aircraft by Bill Lear. Variations of the 60 model include: 60XR. Other Learjet models include: 23, Learjet 24, Learjet 25, 28, 29, Learjet 31, Learjet 35, 36, 40, Learjet 45, Learjet 55, 60 and 85. The future model of the Learjet 85 is scheduled for release in 2013 with the 60 model no longer in production.
Improvements on the 60 model for the 60 XR model include the "Ogive" winglet trailing edge which improves the wing interaction lowering the drag. Three disc steel wheel brakes are also an upgraded feature on the Learjet 60XR.
