Learjet 31 Series Aircraft Information
The Learjet 31 is an eight passenger with two crew members, twin engine business Jet. The empty weight of the aircraft is 9,857 lbs (4,471 kg) and the maximum takeoff weight is 15,500 lbs (7,031 kg). The cruise speed is 448 kts (515 mph, 829 km/h), the stall speed is 84 kts (97 mph, 156 km/h), and the maximum speed is Mach 0.81 (464 kts, 534 mph, 860 km/h).
The Learjet 31 combines the engines and fuselage of the Learjet 35 and the Learjet 36 with the longer wings of the Learjet 28, 29, and the Learjet 55 models. The Learjet 31A features an increase in cruising speed, changes to the instrument layouts, and a digital avionics system from Honeywell. The Learjet 31AER is the extended range model and features standard thrust reversers, divided air conditioning system and a digital control (FADEC).
Two after-market modifications were created by Raisbeck Engineering for the 31 models. An external storage unit that can be mounted and stowed beneath the rear fuselage is called the Aft Fuselage Locker and the ZR Lite performance package. The ZR Lite reduces cruise drag increasing cruise altitude and speed.
