Ercoupe 415-C Light Sport
The Ercoupe 415 is the two seat model of the Ercoupe 310 series. The aircraft features a fabric covered fuselage and was described, at the time, as nearly foolproof. When WWII began, civil production ceased and the 415 was built with a wooden frame for military uses. The wood absorbed the vibrations from the engine making the aircraft quieter. During the war, it was used by the Civilian Pilot Training Program and the Civil Air Patrol for spotting German submarines.
After the war, Ercoupe continued to market and manufacture the 415 to civilians. The 415-C is powered by a Continental A-65-8 engine with a cruise speed of 94 kts and a stall speed of 49 kts. The empty weight is 800 lbs and the gross weight is 1,260 lbs.
