    Cessna 195 Series Aircraft Information

Manufactured by Cessna between 1947 and 1954, the Cessna 190 and 195 Businessliner are a family of light single radial engine powered, conventional landing gear, general aviation aircraft. The aircraft has the capacity for one crew member and four passengers. Empty weight is 2050 lb (930 kg) and maximum takeoff weight is 3350 lb (1519 kg). The cruise speed is 148 knots (274 km/h), stall speed is 55 knots (102 km/h), and the maximum speed is 157 knots (291 km/h).

Variant models of the 190 and 195 include the 190, Model 195, 195A, 195B, LC-126A, and U-20A. The difference between the 190 and 195 models was the engine installed. The 190 was powered by a 240 hp Continental W670-23. The 195 was powered by a 300 hp Jacobs R-755-A2, the 195A was powered by a 245 hp Jacobs L-4MP (R-755-9), and the 195B was powered by a 275 hp Jacobs R-755B2. The United States Air Force, Air National Guard, and Army used the Cessna 195 under the designation LC-126A. After 1962, the USAF redesignated the LC-126A the U-20A.

Cessna's only postwar radial-engined aircraft were the 190 and 195. The first Cessna airplane to the completely constructed of aluminum and feature a cantilever wing was the Cessna 195. The fuselage was large compared to other Cessna models because the 42' diameter radial engine had to be accommodated upfront. The pilot and one passenger were accommodated on individual seats in the first row and up to three passengers on a bench seat in the second row. Cessna's purchase of the rights to Steve Wittman's Big X resulted in the 190 and 195's flat sprung-steel landing gear.

Cessna marketed the 195 mainly has a business aircraft under the name "Businessliner" because the aircraft was expensive to purchase and operate for private use. Considered "one of the finest classics ever built" by pilots and collectors the Cessna 190 and 195 are much sought after.
