Beechcraft Sierra Series Aircraft Information
The Beechcraft Musketeer series is made up of low wing, single engine, light aircraft. A total of 4,366 models were produced between 1963 and 1983. Separating the Musketeer line from the rest of Beechcraft airplanes is the unique landing gear. The undercarriage is a trailing idler link gear system. The suspension system is a compressed rubber puck arrangement. For the fixed landing gear model, wheel fairings were not designed or offered from Beechcraft but in later years other manufacturers began putting forward wheel fairings.
The major difference between the previous models and the Model 24 is the retractable landing gear. Later named the Beechcraft A24R Sierra, the Model 24 takes full advantage of its Lycoming IO-360-A1B 200 hp engine with the landing gear. The Beechcraft A24R Sierra 200, the Beechcraft B24R Sierra 200, and the Beechcraft C24R Sierra 200 are four to six seat aircraft and make up the last of the civil line.
