Detailed Description
1943 North American SNJ-4, straight, no damage history. Reman in 1952 and upgraded at the factory. Engine was overhauled with NOS parts. Prop was brand new when installed with the overhauled engine. Was an IFR trainer, full original panels front and back. Was used as a photomapping ship for years. Most of the hours are straight and level Flight, not a lot of bank and yank time. Polished exterior, no wrinkles or bondo hiding under paint. Airplane flys regularly, times will change.
Not a museum piece, not perfect, never f****ed up with mods or hack sawed to save weight. Always turns heads at fly-ins, air shows or the pumps. Standard category airplane.
Airframe
Straight with no damage history. Standard category airplane. Remanufactured, assembled and rigged at the factory. Flys like a T6 should. No heavy wings, no weird trim issues. Not restored but maintained over the years.
Polished aluminum, no wrinkles, no bondo, no paint.
Engines / Mods / Prop
Engine was overhauled with all NOS parts in the late 60's. 840 SMOH. New mags and ignition harness. Good compressions. Engine runs smooth. Pressures and temps are where they should be, even on a hot day.
