Detailed Description

For Sale: 1973 Rockwell Commander 112TC - Turbocharged Performance, Comfortable Cross-Country Cruiser

Looking for a reliable, comfortable, and stylish way to build complex time or enjoy cross-country family adventures? This 1973 Rockwell Commander 112TC might be your perfect match. With low airframe hours, a recently overhauled engine, and a new Hartzell 3-blade prop, this aircraft is ready for many more years of safe and enjoyable flying.

The Commander 112TC combines the solid build quality of the Rockwell line with the enhanced performance of turbocharging. Designed to cruise at 130 knots indicated airspeed (IAS) while sipping fuel at under 11 gallons per hour, this aircraft delivers a rare blend of speed, efficiency, and altitude capability. Whether you're navigating over mountainous terrain or flying in hot, high conditions, the turbocharged engine gives you the extra power and flexibility when you need it most.

This aircraft is equipped with retractable landing gear, making it an ideal platform to build complex time without sacrificing comfort or breaking the bank. If you're a commercial pilot-in-training, a CFI looking for a complex trainer, or a time-builder who doesn't want to compromise on features, this is a smart investment.

Inside, the Commander is exceptionally roomy for a 4-seat aircraft in this class. Its wide cabin and ergonomic seating make it a true four-person traveler, not just a "2+2." Whether you're loading up your family for a weekend trip or flying friends to a nearby destination, everyone onboard will appreciate the space and comfort. The baggage area offers ample room for luggage, camping gear, or weekend essentials.

The recent engine overhaul means peace of mind and long-term value. The newly installed Hartzell 3-blade propeller adds smoother performance, better climb, and lower cabin noise-a noticeable upgrade from older configurations.

Key highlights:

Low total time on airframe - a great foundation for future upgrades or extended service

Recent engine overhaul - dependable power and performance for years to come

New Hartzell 3-blade prop - enhanced efficiency, reduced vibration, and better performance

Turbocharged - strong high-altitude performance and added versatility

<11 GPH fuel burn - incredibly economical for its class

130 knots IAS cruise - fast enough to get you where you're going, efficiently

Comfortable 4-seat cabin - great for family trips or long-haul flying

Retractable gear (complex) - ideal for time-building and advanced pilot training

This 112TC is not just a stepping stone to your next certificate-it's also a memories machine. Take it camping, fly to your favorite ski town, island-hop with friends, or introduce your family to the joy of general aviation. It's a plane you'll want to fly often-not just for the hours, but for the experience.

Why settle for a cramped trainer or a gas-guzzling cross-country ride? The Commander 112TC offers the rare combination of comfort, performance, and efficiency, all at a fraction of the price of comparable modern aircraft.

Get in and go-this Rockwell Commander 112TC is ready for its next chapter. Whether you're chasing ratings or chasing sunsets, this airplane will take you there with style, reliability, and joy.

Remarks

This has been a wonderful plane for my wife and I over the last 5 years while we lived in MA. We recently moved to AZ and aren't flying it as much as desired. It has been a wonderful weekend adventure machine for several years. I've been the sole owner for the past 5 years and have been thoroughly happy with the plane. I'm mainly looking to sell it as I transition careers and move the family again... Looking for $110k OBO for genuine offers. I might be interested in a local partnership with somebody since I just don't fly it that much.
